Prince Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, a retired Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In this interview with Tunde Oyekola, he speaks on the reorganisation of the party in Osun State, the Boko Haram crisis and other sundry issues. What is your reaction to the dissolution of Osun State Executive of the PDP by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party'The party elders in the state felt that the party was not running accordingly after some members protested against the executive about a year ago. As a result of this, the former state chairman, Alhaji Ademola Rasaq (Landero), resigned his appointment. We met in Ilesa immediately to resolve our differences and that was after Aregbesola took over as the governor of Osun State. We felt the resignation of the chairman was an opportunity to do away with bad leadership, but the same party elders appealed to us to allow the remaining members of the executive to go ahead with the running of the party. But, when they realised that they had a problem, the elders changed their stand, that they had adopted a bad product because corruption has eaten deep. And that was the advantage that Aregbesola had to take over the state. However, the dissolution of the executive is a welcome development. Though to me, it came late, as it should have been dissolved a year ago. What type of executive do you envisage for the PDP in the state'We have decided that the executive committee should comprise young men who are very active physically and mentally. There is no doubt Ojo Williams tried as a young man by fighting to ensure that the party did not die, because if it does, there would be nothing to celebrate again. But we can easily get dynamic young men who could share from his experience and that person should be picked from the central zone where the chairmanship post is zoned. With the reorganistion going on in the state chapter of the PDP now, do you think the party can come back to power'If you follow what is going on in the state PDP now, you will see that the future is bright for our party. The ACN and Aregbesola capitalised on the PDP crisis in the state in the last general election. But with the current re-organisation which is ongoing in our party, I want to tell you that the ACN days are numbered in the state. If you go round the state now, people will tell you that they prefer PDP government. What happened in PDP then is happening in ACN now, where Aregbesola is the governor and leader of the party at the same time. Despite the massive rigging in Lagos State, the PDP actually won a lot of chairmanship seats in some councils in the state. So, Aregbesola is running up and down with his propaganda but people now know the truth and what he's doing is a plus to PDP.What solution can you suggest to curb the security threat posed by Boko Haram in the Northern part of the country'To me, I don't think there is any security threat. There is no sect called Boko Haram. What happened in the South-South when they were annoyed with the system is what is happening in the North now. The northerners felt that they should complete the remaining four years of their tenure in the presidency. The solution now is that President Goodluck Jonathan should enter into dialogue with the Northern elders to talk to their sons. But above all, the zoning arrangement must be respected and the North should complete its tenure of eight years. In addition, the presidency should ensure smooth running of government, ensure that industries are running so that there would be employment for the youth, while social amenities such as good roads, health system, electricity and so on must be provided. If the factories work, the security threat will be minimised.
