Eight communities to benefit from Enugu-EU water projects

EIGHT communities from three local council areas of Udi, Igbo-Etiti and Nkanu-East in Enugu State will benefit from N100 million European Union/WaterAid Nigeria joint water supply project under the Small Towns Water supply facilities.The Head of Programmes of WaterAid in the country, Ziyok Ishaku, signed the contract in Enugu with the contractors and representatives of the state government and benefiting communities yesterday.The contract included the construction of motorised and hand-pumps boreholes and would be completed in the next eight weeks while the agency insists that any contractor who fails to complete on schedule would bear the extra cost.
