Robbers attack Ekiti bank with grenade

Two policemen yesterday escaped death in Ikole-Ekiti, Ekiti State, when armed robbers shot at them during a robbery operation at a first generation bank in the town.The robbers, who were said to be 10 in number, were said to have invaded the town around 10a.m. through the Itapaji-Ikole- Ekiti Highway and shot the two policemen who were at a check-point in the area.It was learnt that the armed robbers brought down the security door of the bank with a grenade and went away with a huge amount of money.The robbers operated for about 40 five minutes unchallenged.
