London 2012: NOC, First Bank seal partnership

FIRST Bank yesterday became the official banker to the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) for the London 2012 Olympic Games.Speaking at the signing of partnership agreement held at the NOC secretariat, National Stadium, Lagos, Mrs Folake Ani-Mumuney, Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications said that her organisation shared the values of the Olympic Movement."For a period of one month some four billion people across the world would through various media channels witness unusual display of determination, excellence, friendship, respect and courage by world's best athletes and these are values that First Bank subscribe to.'The Olympic Movement also promotes the cause of sports practised without discrimination," she said.Also speaking, President of NOC, Engineer Sani Ndanusa, noted that the partnership between NOC and FirstBank "is not only a landmark in the history of the NOC but equally a great encouragement, as we drive to reposition the committee for better service delivery to our sports and the Olympic Movement".He commended the Marketing Commission of the NOC headed by Mr Patrick Ukah, for the success recorded so far. Ukah while speaking at the event disclosed that the commission has concluded plan to unveil Countdown Clock to the London Olympics on December 31 in Lagos.
