Minimum wage jacks up Benue 2012 budget by N42bn

The implementation of the newminimum wage in the country has jacked up the 2012 fisical appropriation bill in Benue State by N42 billion, just as the state governor, Dr Gabriel Suswam, on Thursday, presented the proposal of the sum of N105.5 billion as projected budget for the coming year to the state assembly.Governor Suswam, in his presentation, said 'the increase in government's expenditure is a little over 14.8 per cent over that of 2011, this increase can be attributed to wage bill increase across board and the need to complete all ongoing projects.The state budget for the outgoing year, according to the governor, was N63.6 billion.The budget christened, 'Budget of Actualisation of Growth and Development,' the governor said the budget was aimed at ensuring that all projects started by his administration would all be completed, as well as consolidate his previous achievements.
