Fayemi announces cabinet reshuffle, warns against corruption

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, on Friday announced a minor cabinet reshuffle with the inauguration of some new commissioners and special advisers.The governor, who warned members of his cabinet against corruption, said he would not shield anyone found to be involved in corrupt practices.He said, "It has become imperative for us to inject fresh blood into the cabinet to accelerate development. You have been saddled with the responsibility of developing the state with your new offices."Let me state again our zero tolerance for corruption. Eschew corruption and flee from it wherever it appears like a bait. This government will not shield anybody found to be involved in corruption."Some old members of the cabinet were moved to new ministries, while eight new appointees were inaugurated at a ceremony held at the Government House.A former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ikole Local Government Area, Chief Biodun Akin-Fasae, was appointed Special Adviser in the Governors Office. Prof. Olusola Fasuba, one of the new commissioners, was moved to head the Ministry of Health, while his predecessor, Dr. Wole Olugboji, was redeployed as Commissioner for Special Duties.Mrs. Bunmi Dipo-Salami, former Special Adviser on Millennium Development Goals, was moved to the Ministry of Integration and Inter-governmental Affairs.Former Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Wole Adewumi, is now the head of the Ministry of Labour, Productivity and Human Capital Development, while Mr. Paul Omotoso, who was the commissioner in the Special Duties Ministry, was moved to the Ministry of Housing and Environment.Former commissioners for Human Capital Development, Mrs. Bunmi Adelugba and Physical and Urban Development, Mr. Kayode Olaosebikan are now Special Advisers in charge of Revenue Matters and Taxation and Political and Inter-party Relations respectively.
