NASFAT cautions FG on oil subsidy removal

An Islamic group, Nasrul-Lahi-Fatih Society of Nigeria, has cautioned the Federal Government on the plan to remove fuel subsidy.Addressing a news conference in Osogbo on Friday, the national executive of the society described the plan by the government as deceitful.Its vice-president, Alhaji Bodunde Tiamiyu, who fielded questions from journalists, stated that the NASFAT executive council was in Osogbo for a two-day national strategic retreat.He decried drug abuse, violence and materialism among Nigerian youths, saying that moral values had been eroded in the country.Tiamiyu said, "The government must have a rethink over the proposal to remove subsidy from oil. The plan is deceitful and the government should stop toying with the idea."We must shun religiosity and adhere to the principles of integrity, honesty, justice and peace. We must learn to live in the ways of the Holy Prophet Mohammed at all times and not pay lip service to worship."
