Christmas Rush: Customers Besiege Banking Halls

NCC Tasks Journalists On Quality ReportingCUSTOMERS of Friday had a difficult time doing last minute transactions before banks shut their doors for the Christmas holiday.When The Guardian visited some of the banks along Airport Road in Lagos, long queues were seen at ATM points.One of the customers who spoke to The Guardian said he spent close to an hour to deposit money.At Zenith Bank, along Ladipo Road, long queues were also seen. Some customers who had not concluded transaction as at closing time for the bank were reluctant to leave the premises.Some banks along Isolo, Ladipo and Airport Roads closed transaction for the day at 5.30pm, extending time for anxious customers.Meanwhile, journalists have been urged to go the extra mile in reportage and analysis, deploying research and balanced information.The Director, Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), Mr. Tony Ojobo, at a workshop organised for ICT reporters in Lagos, said the training would enable journalists report ICT stories professionally through the use of simple language.
