Reps yet to debate fuel subsidy, says spokesman

The House of Representatives yesterday declared that it is yet to take a decision on the plan by the federal executive to deregulate the crude oil sector from next yera.The House made the clarification in reaction to reports which credited President Goodluck Jonathan as saying that the National Assembly had given its support for the plan.A statement by the chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Zakari Mohammed, and made available yesterday to the Nigerian Compass on Sunday, faulted the claim by some media houses (the Nigerian Compass not included) that President Jonathan said at the chat that the National Assembly would endorse the subsidy removal.
