13-year-old author thrills guests at Ondo children's party

A 13-year-old author, Miss Bisola Amodu, who was one of the guests at the 2011 children party hosted by the wife the governor of Ondo State, Mrs. Olukemi Mimiko, in Akure on Friday, thrilled the audience at the event when she read some interesting parts of her book.Amodu, a JSS 3 pupil of Idris Premier College, Akure, specifically read a story from her collections titled, The Hunters First Son to the admiration of other children and guests.Amodu said she enjoys reading and writing but added that she would like to become a medical doctor in future.Olukemi advised other children to emulate the good quality of Amodu.She also urged the children to be diligent in their studies in order to become great individuals in life.The Government House childrens party, according to the wife of the governor, is the climax of the previous parties earlier held in the three senatorial districts of the state.She told the children who attended the party from all the 18 Local Governments Areas of the state to have the interest of the state at heart.The occasion was attended by Governor Olusegun Mimiko, the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Bejide Olanusi, wives of members of the state executive council, wives of the 18 LGA chairmen, their House of Assembly counterparts and female political appointees.The governor advised the children not to see the festive period as an opportunity to wine and dine only, but to seek the face of God in all their undertakings.I charge you as children not to see the festive period as a time to wine and dine alone, but reflect on your past deeds, by seeking the face of God. Always imbibe the mantra of the state Ise takun takun, he said.
