The Federal Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with JRF Technology LLC of United States, on investment prospects in Nigeria, a consortium of American and Canadian investment firms with key operations in engineering and construction. The deal is also aimed at enlisting the firm to help mobilise credible and reputable investors in mining, agriculture, value chain, trans-national border market, energy, infrastructure and aviation, among other non-oil sectors, to invest in the country.A statement by the Ministry of Trade and Investment on Monday disclosed that the Minister of Trade and Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, signed the deal on behalf of the Federal Government, while the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, JRF, Mr. Jozsef Alberti, signed on behalf of the firm. The objective of the MoU is to drive investments into Nigeria. It was agreed that the MoU would be used to create a viable institutional partnership for the Train-to-Work initiative of the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment and identify business opportunities, develop entrepreneurship and vocational capacities and provide necessary start-up capital for Small and Medium-scale Enterprises in Nigeria, the statement explained. The minister was quoted as thanking the consortium and Alberti in particular for their dedication and commitment to investing in the country. He urged them to continue to be good ambassadors for Nigeria in advocating the good things you have seen in Nigeria during the visit.Aganga recalled that the ministry, in collaboration with the Oyo State Government and the UK Department for International Development, was already developing a trans-national border market in Shaki, Oyo State. He, therefore, urged all genuine investors to take advantage of the potential in the area to invest in the country.
