Published by Punch on Tue, 27 Dec 2011

A football stadium brings fans from diverse background united in their passion for the beautiful game. The MTN Football Viewing Centre in Port Harcourt has clearly provided such a platform for fans of the game.Usually, the pain of defeat is only temporary as the friendship engendered by a shared passion and interest soon dissolves the knot of disappointment that every football fan experiences, for some more often than others. At the exotic Eddie Wine Bar, on the precincts of the GRA in Port Harcourt, the carefully selected venue for the MTN Football Viewing Centre, again brought football experts together to enjoy a feast of football with seven English Premier League matches all kicking off simultaneously penultimate weekend.Fans had the privilege of selecting two games of their choice, and so the Arsenal-Everton and the Manchester United-Wolves games were shown on different screens. But the excitement started even before the kickoff when the regular host of the programme Peter Abaje asked two questions centred on Arsenal who were celebrating their 125 anniversary, and gave out an MTN branded track suit to the winner Remi Matthew.Another aspect of the show is the predict and win game where, again, Remi Matthew, Ozioma Ohaeri and Chinonso Okeregwu predicted the scores for Manchester United-Wolves game, while Femi Philip, Chinonso Okeregwu and Frank Omosigho got the score of Arsenal-Everton match up correctly.
