Group lauds Deji's appointment as Ondo Obas'chairman

The Akure RenewalGroup, a socio-cultural organisation in Akure, has congratulated the Deji of Akure, Oba Adebiyi Adesida, Afunbiowo II, over his appointment as the chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas.A statement by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the group, Chief Oluwole Atandeyi, noted that the people of the town had long awaited the appointment which they believed had come at God's own time.The group also expressed appreciation to the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, for the elevation of the Akure traditional ruler.According to the Akure Renewal Group, the appointment which came barely one year after the coronation of the traditional ruler, was a mark of recognition of the qualities of Oba Adebiyi.It added that the move showed that the state government reposed confidence in the leadership qualities of the traditional ruler to successfully manage the affairs of the highly revered State Council of Obas.The group prayed that the monarch's appointment would usher in greater peace, progress, growth and development, not only in Ondo State, but also in Nigeria.It, therefore, called on all Akure sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora to give the Deji unflinching support in his new assignment
