Emir of Daura counsels community against violent protect

The Emir of Daura,Alhaji Faruq UmarFaruq, has urged communities in his domain to always show discipline and loyalty while presenting any demand or grievances to constituted authorities at all levels of government in Katsina State.The emir, who stated this while receiving members of the Baure Development Association, in his palace, reminded them that the only way a community can achieve progress was through discipline, loyalty and cooperation.Faruq, who noted that the root of his ancestors had direct connection with Baure area, said the problems and challenges faced by the people of the area were known to him, adding that, he would strive to solve them.He, therefore, promised to lead members of the association to the state government to come to the rescue of the people of the area to rehabilitate the dilapidated 90-kilometre Sandamu-Baure-Babanmutum road.Earlier, the leader of the association, Bebejin Daura Alhaji Abba Yahaya Baure, said they were at the palace to seek the emir's support to call on the state government to repair the Sandamu-Baure-Babanmutum , Baure-Hui-'Yan Maulu-Shado, Zango-Rogogo and Mai Bara-'Yanduna-Karkarku roads.Baure stated that the bad nature of the roads had cost great loss to the people of the area, adding that even the revenue generated by markets located in these roads had gone down since people no longer patronise such markets.He, therefore, pledged the commitment of the communities in the area to continue to support government policies and programmes while acknowledging the role of the emir in attracting developments to the people of Daura zone.
