The reasons for Christmas

The reason for Christmas is prophecy to keep alive people's hopes for a fresh beginning and a new relationship with God.Jesus Christ birth, life and death happened exactly as the prophets foretold ' 'Behold a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call his name ' God with us' (Isaiah 7 : 14)Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah, who brings every willing person into a new covenant relationship with the father ' that Messianic hope is still available in our days through the one who came, died and rose again to save us ' and those who have received Jesus Christ as Saviour, have an unbreakable covenant relationship with God and the promise of eternity with Him (God)Other reasons for Christmas also include - ' that, Christ came to reveal the Omnipotent and invisible God John 1 : 18, and John 14 : 9 'Christ came to reconcile man to God' I Timothy 2 : 5 & 6, Hebrews 2 : 14 and II Corinthians 5 : 19. Again Christ came to destroy the Devil and his works I John 3 : 18. Also, Christ came to give life John 10 : 10 ' Jesus Christ declared that 'The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. Christ came that believers may have abundant life'.Christ came to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord (Luke 4 : 18)Christ came to fulfil prophecy (Genesis 3 : 15) with the hope that God will also fulfil His promises to individuals ' Christ also came to show God's love to humanity and to save (John 3 : 16 & 36 ' 1 : 12, 14 : 16) (Acts 4 : 12, 10 : 38 & 39 ' 16 ; 30, 31) (Romans 3 : 10, & 23, 5 : 8, 6 : 23)Revd Phillip Olusegun Adedokun (Papa Access) Inc.
