No change in Ojukwu's burial date ' Bianca

The February 2, 2012 burial date for Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu-Ojukwu will not change, his widow, Bianca, said on Tuesday. According to Bianca, the burial plans for the ex-warlord are on course.She said, "The burial activities will involve governments of all the nine states that were in the old Eastern Region." Ojukwus widow spoke when some members of the House of Representatives from Anambra State, led by Mrs. Uche Ekwunife, paid her a condolence visit in Enugu. Bianca said, "The burial rites will commence on February 2, 2012 in Enugu, after which there will be a journey home to Nnewi in Anambra State, where he will be buried."Before his burial on February 2, 2012, there will be events leading to that time, about a week before then." The representative of Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo in the House, Chris Azubogu, however, said he and his colleagues would ensure that Ojukwu was immortalised immediately."Ojukwus death has left very big shoes for any Igbo man to fit in. His death has affected so many of us. We in the House of Representatives will ensure that a monument is named after him," Ekwunife said.Ojukwu died in London on November 26.
