Support Jonathan's war against insecurity, Nigerians told

Published by Tribune on Wed, 28 Dec 2011

Following Christmas day bombing ofa Church at Madalla, Niger State, by members of Islamic fundamentalists, Boko Haram, the national chairman of National Action Council (NAC), Dr Olapade Agoro, on Tuesday called on Nigerians to support President Goodluck Jonathan to arrest the insecurity situation in the country.Apparently reacting to the Christmas day bombing, he said the security challenges facing the country had outweighed the capacity of President Jonathan and he should be assisted by all.In a statement entitled "Deadly Security Challenges: Unless We Meet Now, We May Quickly Burn Out" made available to journalists in Ibadan, he said "definitely and without talking the nonsense language of politics, the security situation has ran too wild out of control of President Goodluck Jonathan, he needs our help and we must be ready to help."While noting that the birth of Jesus Christ annually celebrated was the manifestation of the love of God towards men, Agoro noted that the bombing of Christ's own Church on the Christmas day by sons and daughters of Satan in Madala, Niger State, which claimed so many innocents lives came with carriage of meanings that the national security situation, now terribly red bloody have gone far beyond the capability of the present administration.Meanwhile, a cleric, Pastor Richmond Leigh has lambasted the Federal Government for its insensitivity to provide adequate security for the citizenry.According to him, government has been so careless about the lives and properties of the people, describing the poor state of security as most unfortunate and unmitigated disaster.Pastor Leigh, who is the founder and Senior Pastor of Father's House Church based in Warri, Delta State has, therefore, charged President Jonathan to garner courage and rise to the occasion and flush out the undesirable elements currently holding the nation to ransom. The cleric, who spoke with newsmen on Tuesday in Warri, however revealed that his church was set to organise a three-day Jesus mega party convention at Urhobo College Effurun from 29th to 31st December 2011 to counter all the evil wishes and criminality targeted against the country.'The Jesus mega party convention is time of praises and worship to thank God, but this time around we are going to turn the table against evil doers. We have resolved that we will not allow evil men to take over Nigeria, hence we are appealing to all and sundry to turn out en-mass to fight this battle', stressed the cleric.
