Commissioner seeks protection for NDDC projects

The Commissioner representing Delta State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC), Chief Solomon Ogba, has called on communities in Delta State to extend cooperation and support for the programmes of the NDDC designed for the overall attainment of the development objectives for which the commission was established.The NDDC commissioner made the call recently in Isoko South Local Government Area in a goodwill message sent to the traditional marriage ceremony between Miss Akpokuvie Zelia Elili and Mr. Onome Agbomedarho held at Sir Emmanuel Elili's compound in Aviara.Chief Ogba, who affirmed NDDC's commitment to the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan, advised contractors handling different NDDC projects in Delta State to demonstrate patriotism to the country and encouragement to government by delivering project to specifications and on time.The commissioner also appealed to communities to cooperate with the contractors and take NDDC projects in their communities as their own in order to maximise the benefits of the projects.Advising the young couple, Chief Ogba congratulated Akpokuvie and Onome for their determination to love and get married in spite of the fact that they were from different local government areas of the state.He urged Deltans to consider ways of breaking ethnic barriers and live in unity rather than give in to tribal sentiments.
