Kazaure LG partners senator to train 500 women

KAZAURE Local Government Council in Jigawa State in collaboration with the senator representing Jigawa North West Senatorial District, Dr Danladi Abdullahi Sankara, has started the training of 500 women in various skills in order to be self-reliant and improve their economic stability.This was disclosed by the local government council chairman, Alhaji Sale Yahaya Taki, while speaking to newsmen in his office shortly after the launching of the programme at Kazaure town, adding 'this is one of the numerous youth and women empowerment programmes carried out by the council since coming to power in 2010.'Alhaji Sale Yahaya Taki explained that out of 500 beneficiaries, the council was sponsoring 200 women and after the training, each of the beneficiaries would be provided with facilities and take-off grant to establish their own businesses.The council boss maintained that all the 500 women were drawn from Kazaure Local Government Area, including the 300 sponsored by Senator Danladi Abdullahi Sankara.According to him, the programme was initiated by the senator when he brought the idea and the number of women to benefit, saying 'we at council level quickly added 200 women and increased the number to 500, given the opportunity to a large number of local women.'Alhaji Taki further noted that his council was also sponsoring another 30 youth in the state's government newly introduced skills accusation centre in the emirate to train both men and women in various hand work businesses.
