Bauchi ACN chair resigns - Says party'll remain regional

BAUCHI State Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigerian (ACN), Alhaji Nasiru Garba Aminu, has resigned from the party.In a resignation letter addressed to the National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Bauchi, the state capital, yesterday, Aminu said he resigned 'because I feel the party does not have what it takes to become a true national party. It is and will remain a regional party that has the interest of only the South-West region at the expense of the Nigerian nation'.According to him, 'prior to the 2011 general elections, my belief as a committed member of the ACN was that here is a party that can check some of the excesses of the ruling PDP, particularly in the North where I come from .With this on my mind and coupled with fact that the general populace, within the Northern geo-political zone, are fed up with the mismanagement of PDP leadership, I saw ACN as an avenue to deliver the Nigerian citizens from the shackles of mis-governance of the ruling party.
