By this, he plans to provide employment for those who can bring their creative skills to bear on the photography profession.Gam-Ikon who is also the managing director of Replica Digital Photo Centre says, We have the vision to empower the youths financially; to help them to be creative and have the entrepreneurship mindset to maximise the potential in photography through our talent programme for youths.According to him, creative minds ready to elevate the photography profession into higher levels will help to create more jobs for the youth.To be successful as a photographer, he says there is the need to have the technical knowledge of the skills involved.He says, An intending entrepreneur needs to have the creative skills, knowledge and technical abilities in the craft and art of photography.Because of his passion for photography, he says he organises programmes designed to enhance the quality of photography in the country. He also brings industry practitioners together in a bid to enable them own their space in the field of the profession in Nigeria.By this, he gives the intending ones the chance to put in their photographs for competitions, which wins them different gifts. These entries are also published on specific websites.He says, The talent programme helps to educate the participants better as they do not just throw their cameras around, but are able to get more exposures and increased motivations to encourage them.The organisation encourages the winners through different gifts, including certifying them for photography.He says, By this, we are certifying youths in photography, thus providing employment for those who can bring their creative skills to bear on a profession that is fast employing lots of labour.He identifies the values of good photographs to include adequate quality of photo, originality and ability to communicate. On the required instruments of trade, he says, depending on ones level of financial capacity, one can start moderately, and grow later.Considering the growing number of youths and the high rate of unemployment in the country, maximising the potential in this profession will go a long way to meet many peoples needs in this regard, he says.According to him, if many youths can look beyond carrying their cameras around as a hobby, they will be able to earn good income from it, if well developed.The Chief Executive Officer, DB Photography, Mr. David Bayo, has immense passion for photography. He is known for taking nice pictures on occasions, such as weddings, corporate events, birthdays and other different memorable occasions.According to him, the country is blessed with intelligent youths, who can make the best out of photography.He observes that there are different types of photographs and different ways of presenting them, to make them look appealling.He says that photography involves the use of electronic means, such as cameras to produce images that come in different ways.A medium-sized camera, preferably a digital camera that may not cost more than N25,000 can be a starting point. But the major ingredient of success, he says, is the passion for the profession.Bayo emphasises the need to take quality photographs with good cameras because this will help the photographs to come out in appreciative ways.Starting out operations, according to him, can be on a freelance basis, but the most important thing is the professional touch of quality, which is the only thing needed to announce the practitioner.He says, There is the need to be professional in the way you take photographs. When you take nice photographs, they will be better appreciated.
