Pillars get N171m for new season

Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso has approved the release of N171m for Kano Pillars Football Club for the 2012 soccer season.This is just as the club management plans to register thirty players for next seaon.The approved money is meant for the payment of the clubs outstanding debts to its players and officials, as well as the take off grant for the club.Pillars General Manager, Alhaji Abba Galadima informed newsmen in Kano that of the amount, N64m would be used for the settlement of the outstanding debts.According to him, N107m would serve as their take off grant for the 2012 season.He commended Gov. Kwankwaso for his unflinching support for sports development in the stateHe also said that the approval had come at a time Pillars needed it most.Galadima equally pointed out that the club will register 30 players at the onset and may open up its doors for other experienced players, if the need arises, during the window season.The GM further disclosed that the target of the club was to improve on its performance by picking a possible continental ticket at the close of the season.He therefore appealed to the Kano Pillars Supporters Club to continue to encourage the team, adding that the supporters club remained one of the best nationwide.
