Shooting building best team ever ' Coach

Published by Punch on Thu, 29 Dec 2011

Shooting Stars Sports Club assistant coach Tunde Odubola has allayed fears on the strength of the Ibadan club as they prepare for their league campaign which begins in January.Odubola, a former 3SC player fondly referred to as Zico, has been in charge of recruiting new players for the club during the off-season in the absence of a head coach. The team left their former camping at the University of Ibadan for the Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu Ode on Wednesday and Odubola is confident the new players will blend easily with the players they met in the club after their camping. He added that the idea of Ijebu Ode was to help the team have a better concentration in preparedness for the commencement of the league. He said, Im quite optimistic that with the quality of the crop of players we have in the team we can face the world. The spirit in the camp is commendable and by the time we settle down in Ijebu-Ode, the cordiality will get better between the old and the new players.Shooting Stars have yet to name a new coach after Fatai Amoo left the team, and former Enugu Rangers coach Alphonsus Dike has been pencilled down as a possible replacement.Odubola said he was ready to work with any coach that the club management would eventually appoint. The clubs success is the most important on our agenda so nothing will stop us from working together for success, he said.
