Boko Haram: Constitute mediating committee now, OPC leader tells Jonathan

The leader of OoduaPeoples Congress(OPC), Dr Fredrick Fasheun, has called on the Federal Government to immediately constitute a mediating committee to end the spate of bombing in the country by the Boko Haram sect.Dr Fasheun, who made the call at a news conference in Lagos on Wednesday, said there was the urgent need to do so now since previous measures adopted by the government to nip the situation in the bud had proved abortive.'No country can help us to build our country. The situation confronting us today can only be solved by citizens of this country. This is because insecurity has enveloped the entire country,' he said.Fasheun declared that there were people of proven integrity who could be members of the mediating committee and urged President Goodluck Jonathan to expedite action on this.'It should not be difficult to find people of goodwill. People who believe in the oneness of the country, we are not short of such people,' he said.The OPC leader bemoaned the spate of bomb explosion in the country , saying 'if bomb attack can be carried out in the hub of security in the country, it is an indication that there is no part of the country that is secure. And this can be traced to the bad state of the economy.
