Okonkwo 'ripe' for EPL ' Emeteole

Former Heartland coach Kelechi Emeteole has described Chibuzor Okonkwos Aston Villa trial as a good move, saying the defender is ripe enough to play in the best league in the world.Emeteole, who tutored Okonkwo when he managed the Owerri side, hopes his former favourite player will succeed at the English club and improve on his skills.Okonkwo, who had previously been on trial in Ukraine and Turkey, was one of two domestic league players invited to the Super Eagles by former coach, Samson Siasia.Chibuzor is a quality player and one of my favourites when it comes to commitment and maturity in a team. Ive always believed he has the quality to play in a more competitive league in Europe, Emeteole said.This is another example that we have quality players in the Nigerian league. What they need is the opportunity to display their skills. Chibuzor is one of the best defenders in the domestic league.Emeteole, who was recently appointed as the coach of El Kanemi of Maiduguri, said the problems with Nigerian players in the domestic league are indiscipline and impatience.If they can learn to be discipline, they will go places. Some of them can actually perform better than what we see them do but they are not patient to learn, he said.Im really happy that Stephen Keshi is giving the domestic league players the opportunity to establish themselves in the national team. This will further encourage them to put in their best in their respective clubs because they know they are being assessed.Chibuzor has got the nod from Eagles coach to attend the trial.
