Ajimobi pledges special attention to the physically challenged

Oyo State governor, SenatorAbiola Ajimobi, has said that his administration will give special attention to all physically challenged people in the state.The governor made the remark while speaking during a programme organised for a group of the physically challenged adults by the Tourism Association of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter, at a special Christmas package, which was held at the Cultural Centre, Mokola, Ibadan.Senator Ajimobi, who was represented by the Chairman, Oyo State Tourism Board, Mr Benedict Ogunwusi, said the programme, which enabled the physically challenged adults to visit some historical sites within Ibadan, was packaged to give them a true sense of belonging in line with the mood of the season.He noted that the physically challenged equally deserved the best treatment, saying that 'physical disability is not mental disability.'The governor implored them to be patient while urging them to contribute their quota to the development of the state.Earlier, officers of the Tourism Association of Nigeria, including Messrs Freeman Okosun and Moses Ogunleye, listed some problems facing them in the tourism sector in the state, among which were lack of accessibility to cultural environment and befitting recreation centres.
