Association donates classrooms to school

Old students' of Nawair-ru-deenGrammar School, Obantoko, Abeokuta, Ogun State, have donated a 6-block of ICT classrooms and two offices to their alma mater to promote qualitative education.The projects, Community News gathered, was funded by the Sustainable Management for Mineral Resources Project (SMMRP), a World Bank Assisted Project of the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development.Speaking during the handing over ceremony, former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Alhaji Sarafadeen Tunji Isola, urged old students associations across the country to always complement the efforts of their state government in providing sound education for the people.He contended that the era of government bearing the cost of education had gone, thereby calling on all stakeholders to support the development of education.''I am seizing this opportunity to call on old students of various primary and secondary schools all over the country to give their widows' mite back to their alma mater to enhance infrastructural development and other necessary development within the school environment," he said.The old students also donated a 32-seater Nissan bus to the school, while promising to do more for their alma mater.
