Eagles thrash Kenya 3-0

COACH Samson Siasia, made it a hat-trick on Tuesday at the National Stadium, Abuja, as the Super Eagles thrashed the Harambee Stars of Kenya 3-0 in an international friendly.Siasia had won his two previous games against Sierra Leone (friendly) and Ethiopia since he took over as Head coach.Holland-based Ahmed Musa opened scoring barely two minutes into the game, when he tapped in a cross from Everton forward, Victor Anichebe.Anichebe himself made it two in the third minute of the second half with a clinical grounder after he brilliantly controlled the ball with his chest at the edge of the box.Substitute Ikechukwu Uche completed the demolition of the Kenyans in the 90th minute when he released a thunderous shot beyond the reach of goalkeeper Arnold Otieno. Meanwhile, Siasia speaking after the match praised the players for their impressive performance, just as he noted that the team can do better.I thank Nigerians for their support, the boys are responding well, the midfielders played better today. Mikel Obi did so well in the match, we can only get better, said Siasia. He added, we have to continue to work hard, our aim is to qualify for the Nations Cup and hopefully, the players will come back without injuries for the next match.Also speaking, ex-Super Eagles skipper, Nwankwo Kanu commended the team for scoring goals and not conceding.Its a good result, its been a long time that we scored this number of goals, we are happy for Siasia, he knows what hes doing, hes been uniting the team, said the former Arsenal player.An elated John Mikel Obi after the match noted that winning was important for the team than anything. We did so well, winning is important. Siasia wants to play attacking football as  we have shown in the last two games, the Chelsea player said.
