Taiwo to decide Marseille future in June

NIGERIA defender, Taye Taiwo looks set to determine his future at French club, Olympique Marseille, when the summer transfer window commences in June, SuperSport.com has learned.The 25-year-old defender has been a subject of transfer talks that have linked him with a host of top European sides like AC Milan, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and recently Portuguese giants, Benfica.The former Lobi Stars defender has refused to extend his contract at Olympique Marseille and is holding out for an exit from France.Taiwo is planning a showdown talks with his employers at Olympique Marseille, as his contract is scheduled to run out this summer.But first the left-back will hold talks with Nigerian manager, Samson Siasia, before he leaves the country for his base in Marseille, France this week.SuperSport.com learned that Taiwos discussion with Siasia will centre on his future at Olympique Marseille as well as the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa billed to hold in June.Taiwo is hoping to speak with Siasia into excusing him from Junes meet with Ethiopia in a bid to sort out his football future at club level.The Olympique Marseille left wing back may have ruled himself out of the return trip to Addis Ababa even before the meeting with Siasia, as he plans to secure his future at club level.However, it is understood that Taiwo has agreed in principle with another unnamed club for a summer move away from France with Benfica being his likely destination.
