Zamfara distributes 1,000 tricycles to LGs

Zamfara State government has purchased and distributed 1,000 tricycles worth about N365million to the 14 local government areas of the state.inaugurating-off the distribution of the tricycles, the state governor, Alhaji Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi, said the government decided to purchase and distribute the tricycles to the masses, to enable them to convey their goods to and from their various destinations.Shinkafi maintained that the only way the people could contribute to the development of the state was by improving their economic status, hence, the distribution of the tricycles, which was meant to improve the income of the people of the state.He assured citizens of the state of the commitment of his administration to continue to seek for better living standards of the people, through the implementation of programmes and policies geared towards transformation of the state.Also speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Isiyaku Muhammad Zurmi, enjoined beneficiaries to make judicious use of the tricycles, to improving their socio-economic status, as the tricycles were meant to be used by the beneficiaries and, therefore, must not be sold.
