The Prophecy Of His Birth (II)

Published by Guardian on Sun, 01 Jan 2012

ONE of the fundamental messages of Prophet Isaiah is the coming of the Messiah. Isaiah foretells both the birth of Jesus Christ the Messiah, as well as his death as the final sacrifice for the sins of the world.According to him, the coming of this Messiah would provide peace, forgiveness, and salvation to all who would put their faith and hope in him.'Nevertheless, that time of darkness and despair will not go on forever. The land of Zebulun and Naphtali will soon be humbled, but there will be a time in the future when Galilee of the Gentiles, which lies along the road that runs between the Jordan and the sea, will be filled with glory. The people who walk in darkness will see a great light, a light that will shine on all who live in the land where death casts its shadow. Israel will again be great and its people will rejoice as people rejoice at harvest time. They will shout with joy like warriors dividing the plunder. For God will break the chains that bind his people and the whip that scourges them, just as he did when he destroyed the army of Midian with Gideon's little band. In that day of peace, battle gear will no longer be issued. Never again will uniforms be bloodstained by war. All such equipment will be burned.'For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. And the government will rest on his shoulders. These will be his royal titles: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. His ever expanding, peaceful government will never end. He will rule forever with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David. The passionate commitment of the Lord Almighty will guarantee this!'-Isaiah 9:1-7.In a time of great darkness, God promised to send a light that would shine on everyone living in the shadow of death. He is both 'Wonderful Counselor' and 'Mighty God.' This message of hope was fulfilled in the birth of Christ and the establishment of his eternal Kingdom. He came to deliver all people from their slavery to sin.The Messiah will save his people. He will set up his own Kingdom as the faithful Prince of Peace, who rules with righteousness. At the fullness of time, he came as sovereign Lord, but he didn't stop at. He laid down his life to take away the sins of the world. So, your trust and mine must be in the Son of the living God, not in any nation or power. There is no hope, unless we believe in him. Trust Christ fully and let him rule in your life as your sovereign Lord. The fulfillment of the prophecy of the birth of Jesus has brought hope to the entire world. God promises comfort, deliverance and restoration in his future Kingdom. The Messiah will rule over his faithful followers in the age to come. Hope is possible because Christ is coming. We can be refreshed because there is compassion for those who repent. No matter how bleak our situation is or how evil the world is, we must continue to be God's faithful people who hope for his return. Remember the child that was born unto us some thousands of years ago has unusual titles. Some of the implications of these titles are laid out in the scriptures quoted above. For example, the government is resting on his shoulder. That is the responsibility of management and administration of the people. He will not be a tyrannical ruler.skabairaofciem@yahoo.co.uk
