Rising Stars chicken out of Eagles friendly

FAST growing Akure based side, Rising Stars, have chickened out of a scheduled friendly with the home-based Super Eagles earlier scheduled for this Tuesday.National Team Coordinator, Emmanuel Atta, said the team said they were not ready for the encounter, because the team was still preparing for the start of the new season.He however reasoned that the team may have been scared of the intimidating credentials of the national team, declaring that the way the team has evolved over the weeks there are strong indications that it might become Africa 's strongest home-based squad.Efforts to get clubs like Bendel Insurance of Benin and others also fell through as they were still struggling with players signing and emoluments. But Lobi Stars of Makurdi, have reiterated their readiness to face the national team on Wednesday at the mainbowl of the Abuja National Stadium. 'The team is still evolving and we're sure that at the end of the day, Nigerians will be proud of the national team we're building', he said.
