THE Nigeria Football Federation has expressed appreciation to the Government and people of Kaduna State, the Honourable Minister/Chairman of the National Sports Commission, chairmen of the Senate and House of Reps' committees on sports, former NFF president Abdulmumuni Aminu, former NFF General Secretaries, NFF sponsors, delegates and other invited guests who ensured a very successful Annual General Assembly 2011 of the Federation in the city of Kaduna on Thursday.NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari acknowledged that the General Assembly would not have been as successful without the marvelous contributions of several persons and institutions, who made it a day at the Royal Tropicana Suites, Isa Kaita Road in Kaduna.'The NFF is indeed grateful to so many persons and institutions who facilitated the successful hosting of the Congress. We have to start by appreciating the huge efforts of the Kaduna State Government, with Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, CON, at the head, for the enthusiasm, as well as resources and security provided. One must also remember the Honourable Minister/Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Alhaji Bolaji Abdullahi who sent an inspiring address, delivered by Dr. Bolaji Ojo-Oba.'We are also appreciative of the presence of the Chairman of Senate Committee on Sports, Senator Adamu Gumba, the Chairman of the House of Reps Committee on Sports, Honourable Godfrey Gaya, the former NFF President Abdulmumuni Aminu, former NFF General Secretaries Mr. Momodu Kadiri, Dr. Tijjani Yusuf, Alhaji Sani Toro and Ambassador Fanny Amun. The members of NFF Executive Committee and Management also deserve praise and at the same time, we thank our invited guests and dignitaries.'We also cannot forget the members of the Congress themselves ' the Chairmen and Secretaries of the 36 State FAs, the Nigeria Premier League, Nigeria National League, Nigeria Women's League, Nigeria Nationwide League, Coaches Association, Referees Association and Players' Union.'The gentlemen of the media who covered the event are not left out. They did a wonderful job', said Maigari.Maigari also used the opportunity to wish all Nigerians a happy new year, while praying that the nation's football fortunes will return to the positive lane in Year 2012.
