Kano govt promises support for Pillar

KANO State government will continue to support the state darling team, Kano Pillars football club in its quest to win laurels, saying the previous performance of the club was commendable.The state commissioner for Sports, Prof Umar Farouk Jubrin, disclosed this while speaking with pressmen, that the performance of the team in the last season was commendable.He then added that the administration of the sports loving governor, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will not leave any stone unturned in order to ensure the success of the club.According to him, the fourth placed position of the club in the Nigeria Premier league table last season brought to light the determination and strong will of the players,officials and managers of the club to excel despite all the odds.His words 'the players, the technical crew and the manager of the team did very well considering the situation they were in, unpaid salaries, sign on fees, yet the managers and the team carried on their success story."This is what is required of a good team, we on our part will continue to support their efforts to achieve our collective goal' he explained.Prof Jubril stated that to show the commitment of the present administration in the state a high powered State Council committee was set up by the state goverment to look into possible ways of improving the finances of the club.He also charged the players to double their efforts as they will be handsomely rewarded if the excel competitions coming season.
