RISING from an extraordinary meeting held in Ibadan, the Women Football League Club Owners has issued a strong warning to the Nigeria Football Federations (NFF) to comply with their demands or risk its consequences. The body which appears to have been fed-up with the present NFF leadership, is contemplating pulling out of the NFF and seek autonomy. This was contained in a communiqu issued and made available to the sporting press in Ibadan at the end of the meeting that was attended by about 16 members of the Professional League playing clubs. The clubs owners condemned in strong terms the relegation of the newly constituted Nigeria Women League Board to the background by the NFF especially on issues that has to do with women football. The body was enraged that women football is not getting its deserved recognitions and development under the NFF, claiming 'it will be of great benefits if women football can be independent like is done in some western countries where women soccer is flourishing', sitting America, Ireland and Norway as examples.'It is quite unfortunate that some of the sports journalists/editors in Nigeria are showing unconcern attitude towards unholy appointment of Aishat Falode, a journalist with AIT as the Coordinator of all the female National Teams. Constitutionally, the representative of women football on NFF Executives Board who also doubled as the chairman, Nigeria Women Football League should be in-charge of all activities related to women football in Nigeria, but unfortunately the ungodly romance between Falode, Maigari (President, NFF) and Green (Chairman, Technical Committee of NFF) gave away the right that belongs to Dilichukwu Onyedinma, Chairman, Nigeria Women Football League to the 'Bride' of the duo', statement signed by the proprietor of NITO Queens, Debo Adeoye noted. It stated further that' Maigari should go the way of club owners by renouncing Falode's appointment or face the consequences of his lack of knowledge and political will to get Nigerian football out of its present messy situation. If situation remain the same, we shall adopt non-violent struggle for the actualization of women freedom and also for women football club owners to have rights over their investments'.
