Maiden Alex-Ibru is new Chairman and Publisher of The Guardian

MRS. Maiden Alex-Ibru has been named the new Chairman of Guardian Press Limited, the holding company that owns Guardian Newspapers Ltd, and other associated companies. By this appointment, she also becomes the Publisher of The Guardian titles.She succeeds her husband, the late Dr. Alexander Uruemu Ibru, founder and chairman of the group of newspapers who died on November 20 last year.Mrs. Alex-Ibru, 62, holds a combined honours degree in English and Theatre Studies from the University of Ibadan, and a Master of Science degree in Communications, from the American University in Washington DC., United States.Mrs. Alex-Ibru is bringing to the chair many years of experience in communications and publishing, including the last 11 years as the Chief Executive Officer of Guardian Press Limited.
