Yakubu makes Premiership Team of the Week

NIGERIA'S Yakubu Aiyegbeni's brilliant performance for Blackburn in a 3-2 win over defending champion, Manchester United in the English Premier League last Saturday has been acknowledged having been picked for the Premiership league Team of The Week.The Yak scored two goals for his struggling team against title favourite and has been picked with ten others as one of the best of the week.Other players named in the All-Star-team are Brad Friedel, (Tottenham Hotspur), Jonas Olssen (West Brom), Ryan Taylor (Newcastle United), Stephen Warnoc, (Aston Villa) and Leighton Baines (Everton).Others are Antonio Valencia, (Man U), Gareth Bale (Tottenham), Jack Colback (Sunderland).The duo of Ji Sun Park and Dimitar Berbatov from Man United were also listed.Yakubu is the fifth highest scorer in the English Premiership on 12 goals behind Robin Van Persie (Arsenal), Demba Ba (Newcastle United), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) and Wayne Rooney (Manchester United).
