Traditional ruler seeks more development in Ipaja community

THE traditional ruler of Ipaja, on the outskirts of Lagos, Oba Sylvester Akinniyi, has urged leaders of various communities in Ipaja to let the development of the area be uppermost in their minds, just as he tasked the people to also contribute their quota to the uplift of Ipaja.The monarch gave the charge during the end of the year party and prayer session organised by the Ipaja Community Welfare Association, in the Ayobo ' Ipaja Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, held inside the palace of the Olu of Ipajaland.The traditional ruler stated that there was the need for all and sundry to give proper attention to the development of Ipaja, adding that the community leaders cannot do it alone.The Oba also charged indigenes of Ipaja, as well as other dwellers, to always feel free to come out with any idea or advice that would bring speedy development to the area, stressing that anybody with good or laudable idea should also come to his palace to share such a view.Welcoming community chairmen, secretaries, treasurers as well as other leaders representing the 40 Community Development Associations (CDAs) in the Ipaja Zonal Development Council (CDC) to the venue of the party, the chairman, Alhaji Femi Olowolagba, commended them for the good works they were doing to build trust, confidence and cooperation among community dwellers, adding that they should not relent in the good works they had started.He, however, tasked the leaders to be ready for the great task ahead in the year 2012.Also, the Ipaja Divisional Police Officer (DPO), who was represented at the occasion by one of the members of the PCRC, solicited the cooperation of the community leaders in waging war against crime and other forms of insecurity in the community, adding that he had found the peaceful co-existence prevailing in various communities in Ipaja as a welcome development.
