Irepodun LG chief's wife donates to the aged

Wife of the caretaker committee chairman, Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun State, Alhaja Serifat Remi Adegbite, has described investing in fellow human beings as the true nature of philanthropy.She made the observation during the distribution of cash gift, food and other valuable items to the aged people across the 11 wards in the council area.According to Alhaja Adegbite, investing in humanity, especially the under-privileged, would promote good leadership, not only at the local or state level, but nationwide."For any government to succeed in their day- to-day activities, involving less-privileged as well as disabled must not be over-emphasised, as they are part of the society, they are also contributing their own quota to the development of the country in one way or the other, so they must not be neglected,' she added.Alhaja Adegbite, who appealled to women to take active role in politics for the development of women across the globe, commended the chairman of the council, Alhaji Hameed Adekunle Adegbite and other members of the committee, for their unflinching support to the uplift of women in the area, saying that women in the area would not relent in playing their roles towards the development of the area.The women leaders in the council area, Mrs Arike Lawal, Mrs Emily Kehinde Ibiyemi and Alhaja Giwa Risikat Iyabo, a programme officer in the council, were at the event.The presentation was made at the local government Primary Health Centre, Oke-Ila, Erin-Osun and Irepodun Local Government Primary Health Centre, Anwo, Ilobu respectively.
