Published by Bleacher Report on Mon, 30 Mar 2015

The future once again steps front and center at the 2015 McDonald's All-American Game.Taking Chicago's United Center by storm for the fifth consecutive year, the 38th iteration of the event features 48 of basketball's brightest future stars. It's no exaggerationa brief but effective list of notable past participants includes Shaquille O'Neal, LeBron James, Dwight Howard and more. With the event right around the corner, it's time to take a look at the pertinent info and some of the top prospects to watch in what is their first major step toward the collegiate game and perhaps beyond.2015 McDonald's All-American GameWhen: Wed, April 1, at 5:30 p.m. ETWhere: United Center, ChicagoTV: ESPN2015 McDonald's All-American Game RostersTop Prospects to Watch Ben Simmons, PFWhile not yet a household name, it won't take long for Ben Simmons to achieve the status once he inhabits televisions everywhere.Simmons is the top-ranked recruit in ESPN's 2015 rankings for good reason. Coming in at 6'9" and 225 pounds, the Melbourne, Australia, native features elite athleticism and a sweet jumper, helping him to stretch defenses or dominate in transition. For his efforts this year, Simmons won the Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year award, telling Chad Konecky of USA Today the award has always been a goal.Ive been thinking about this award since freshman year," he said. "You always look forward to accomplishing the goals you set for yourself, but to have actually done it is a like a weight off my shoulders. Ive worked so hard for this moment.Simmons, an LSU commit, is sure to put on a show at the event thanks to his high-flying ways and ability to pile on points in a hurry.Jaylen Brown, SFClose behind Simmons in the rankings department is Wheeler High School productJaylen Brown.Brown is not just interesting because of his on-court abilities. He's one of the top uncommitted recruits in Chicago this week, with Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, North Carolina and Michigan right in the thick of things. On the court is more intriguing, though. Already 6'7" and 220 pounds, Brown encounters no issues bulldozing or slashing his way to the basket at the high school level. He'll put on a show in this regard, but he also projects as an instant college contributor, as ESPN's scouting reportsummarizes:Brown is one of the most powerful wing players in the class. He is a high level finisher whether it is on the break or attacking from the wing in the halfcourt. Brown is an immediate major college contributor and possible starter. We love the direction in which his game is heading.Known for his big finishes at the rim, Brown won't have any issue standing out among a crowd of elite prospects. The event figures to serve as a launching pad to greater things, so watch out.Chase Jeter, CJahlil Okafor may already be wrapping up his career with the Duke Blue Devils, but there's no reason to worry.Chase Jeter is on the way.Jeter, a Duke commit and Bishop Gorman High School product, is one of the top centers in the 2015 class. He's continuing to add weight to his 6'10", 215-pound frame, but he is already a potent shot-blocker and can score with his back to the basket in many ways. It's not hard for Jeter to stand out among a crowd of prospects, nor will he have many issues stuffing the stat sheet in Chicago. The McDonald's All-American Game is a good stage for Jeter to showcase his continued development on both ends of the court. In what is sure to be a dominant performance, Jeter will continue to hint at the great things ahead.Info courtesy of McDonaldsAllAmerican.com and ESPN.com unless otherwise specified.
