Yoruba urged to vote in Kano

THE life patron of Yoruba community in Kano State, Alhaji  Ganiyu Akanbi Bello, has called on the non-indigenes in the state not to travel out of Kano during the election period, but should stay and cast their votes for those who will rule them in the state.Making the call while speaking with Community News, Dr Bello said, since  non- indigenes were earning their daily bread in Kano, it  makes moral sense for us to perform our civic responsibilities in the state.It will not be appropriate to leave Kano and travel to our indigenous states during the election period, because we know those people seeking  election in the state where we  are residing  know little about those in the towns,he said.He added that if those  they did not vote for during the coming election were not performing, they would not be able to challenge them.He, however, advised various communities in the state , to patiently scrutinise the candidates seeking  their votes, to avoid voting for wrong candidates.Dr. Bello also called on the people of the state not to entertain any fear during the elections, adding that government had provided adequate security for the  people and property.He also warned parents to guide their children from being used as political thugs   during and after the election.
