Adeoye fetes constituency members, distributes materials

The Oyo State government has been charged to ensure a credible conducts of local government election that will be acceptable to all political parties in the state.This charge was made by the chairman of Accord Party In Oyo State, Hon. Bashiru Aremu Lawal, at the New Year party organised by a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Niyi Adeoye, in Ibadan recently.Also, the former governor of the state and leader of Accord, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, asked Nigerian leaders to .always put the interest of the people first in all that they do.Ladoja said this while commissioning the materials put together by Adeoye to assist members of his constituency.Lawal said the people of the state will not accept any kangaroo local government election like the type that took place recently in Lagos State.He lauded Adeoye for his gesture towards his constituency, saying that other lawmakers should borrow a leaf from him.He attributed the performance of Accord lawmakers in the Assembly to the example laid by the leaders of the party, especially Senator Ladoja whom he described as a worthy example.Adeoye, in a speech commended Senator Ladoja for giving hope to the hopeless through his style of selfless leadership.He listed his achievements since becoming a member of the legislative house to include the restoration of electricity to Araromi Spare Parts Market; reconstruction of a failed section of the Oje/Atipe road, which has claimed some lives and maimed other users of the road; the flooring of the Fowl section of Oje Market among others.'Also, in our continued effort to ensure that we touch the lives of all members of our constituency, we are currently reconstructing a collapsed drainage at Gbenla/Ali-Iwo area in order to arrest the menace of erosion that is affecting the area. We are also flooring another section of the Oje Market, that is, the olofi and butcher sections.'Work is also ongoing at Renascent High School, Agugu, where we are constructing a pedestrain bridge to stop the hardship being faced by students, teachers and residents of the area in crossing from the school to the neighbouring community.'Item distributed to some beneficiaries at the event included a commuter bus, a taxi cab, three motorcycles, 60 complete set of commercial mobile sets, six grinding machines and six electricity generating sets.Also, 60 youths, drawn from the constituency, are to undergo three-month intensive computer training.All these, accoring to Adeoye, are done as a way of assisting the beneficiaries 'live a better live and become independent, economically.'Adeoye declared that the beneficiaries of his largesse were not restricted to 'members of our party alone, unlike what was obtainable before now.What we are saying is that Accord has come to make a positive difference in the lives of our people.'He promised that what he has done so far was just a tip of the iceberg, 'as long as you continue to entrust us with your mandate, Accord will not let you down.
