Five killed in Lagos, Ogun, Osun as crisis escalates

THE second day of the protests called by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to kick against the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government turned bloody in Lagos, Ogun and Osun states yesterday.Two protesters were killed in Ibafo, Ogun State, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when some hoodlums engaged some policemen in a shootout.Other protesters blocked the expressway and motorists fled as residents went on the rampage to protest the killings. It was gathered that five youths were shot by mobile policemen trying to force their way through a barricade mounted by the protesters.
