This is not my Nigeria

I wake up this morning fighting fear. I wake up terrified and afraid. I wake up startled and scared. There is even mist in my eyes. I had been crying since the wee hours. My soul is afflicted, tormented by the booming bangs of blunderbusses and the jangling booms of bombs. I wake up in stern denial of myself. My mind stutters in self-doubt. Can this ever be my country' My Nigeria ' Is this the Nigeria that our heroes long gone staked their lives to wrestle from the jaws of colonialism' Add your comment
