LeBron James, Stephen Curry Headline List of 2015's Most Popular NBA Jerseys

Published by Bleacher Report on Tue, 14 Apr 2015

LeBron James' return to Cleveland last offseason meant that his old Cavaliers jerseys were en vogue again, which helped him lead the NBA in jersey sales once again. According to ESPN.com's Arash Markazi, King James paced the field, with Golden State Warriors guard and MVP candidate Stephen Curry trailing close behind in second:Per NBA.com, this marks the sixth consecutive season in which James has had the best-selling jersey in the league. The rankings were based on the retail sales from NBAStore.com throughout the regular season.Plenty of other stalwarts landed in the top 15 as well, but Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant's position at No. 3 is somewhat surprising. Bryant missed the bulk of the season with a torn rotator cuffsuffered in January but is such a transcendent star that his jersey still sells in a big way. From a team perspective, no franchise sold more jerseys than the Chicago Bulls, according to NBA.com on Twitter:They were led by an oft-injured star as well, as point guard Derrick Rose checked in at No. 5 on the individual list.He was barely beaten out by Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder for the fourth spot, which means that three of the top five sellers missed significant time this season due to injuries.Rising stars like Curry, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers and Washington Wizards point guard John Wall are starting to infiltrate the list, but it is clear that NBA fans still favor the old standbys. The jersey of a Hall of Fame player is something that never goes out of style, which is why LeBron, Kobe and players of their caliber are likely to rule the roost until they step away from the game for good.Follow @MikeChiari on Twitter.
