Ilaro May Have New Monarch Soon

BEFORE the end of the first quarter of this year, a new Olu Ilaro and paramount ruler of Yewaland in Ogun State, will emerge. This was disclosed by the Adele Olu Ilaro, High Chief J.A.S Abiodun Oyekan, while playing host to some chiefs and people of the area recently.Oyekan noted that 'the Ruling house expected to present candidate(s) had been embroiled in a court case, 'making things difficult for the king-makers.'He disclosed that the court had given its judgment towards the end of last year November that all candidates from the ruling house should be presented to the king-makers for scrutiny.'It is we the king-makers that will pick the person we think can stand shoulder high with other paramount rulers in Ogun Central and Ogun East,' he said.Oyekan was of the view that now that the crisis is over, the Ilaro king-makers are waiting for the Ogun State Government to send notice to the ruling house to hold a family meeting and select candidate or candidates within 14 days and present him or them to the King-makers who will also within seven days pick a candidate and present him to the state government for approval.
