Dutse residents commend Jigawa govt over power, water supply

Residents of Dutse, the Jigawa capital, have commended the government for ensuring adequate water and power supply in the state, in spite of the ongoing strike by the organised labour.A cross section of residents who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recently in Dutse said they were happy that the utilities were still available, four days into the strike.``We are happy that government has sustained the supply of water and electricity in this trying period.Water and power are essential to human lives," they said.A housewife, Hajia Asmau Garba, noted the steady water supply in her Fatara Quarters."Life would have been miserable for us if these essential services were not provided during this critical period."Another resident, Malam Sani Tabo of Yalwawa quarters, also noted that power supply had been stable in his area.'In spite of the ongoing industrial action by workers, we do have the usual 12 hours of electricity supply daily,' Tabo said.Another resident, Abdulmalik Mohammed, who lives in Zai quarters told NAN that he was amazed at the manner water and power supply were steady in the area and expressed the hope that the services would be sustained.
