Published by Tribune on Mon, 23 Jan 2012

Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State and the politicalnerve centre of the South'West, is no longer in therear when it comes to hospitality business.Men and women of high taste and class are bringing their exposure to bear on their business concerns and outfits. They are doing so in a way that whoever has a taste of their products or a feel of their services will have no option but to give kudos to their efforts.Such a feat is what a businessman, Mr Kolawole Adeleye a. k .a Kola Eleja, planted in Ibadan, named Genesis Suites and Halls. The young businessman, who has made 'what is worth doing at all is worth doing well' the cornerstone of all his business concerns, acquired the hitherto pre'varsity premises just beside the popular Fire Brigade office on Molete'Challenge highway, near Scout Camp, and planted a 71-bedroom hotel called Genesis, complementing it with three exquisite halls for dignified events.Even a casual traveller along the Challenge'Molete road cannot miss the set of buildings, painted in orange, ash and cream, seemingly poking their noses into the main road with a set of flags of different countries, hoisted in the front of the premises.Though very attractive, one might think that the beauty ends at the two buildings, near the main road, but what one sees outside is nothing compared to the majestic splendour of the structures and facilities behind these two buildings. As you enter the premises, one thing that will immediately cross your mind is the fact that this is one hotel planted solely to offer unique and desirable services to hospitality buyers. You may notice the uniformed security guards, but you may not see other men and the hidden cameras planted strategically to ensure that you are well secured and safe. You will also be impressed by the way the hotel has been landscaped and portioned so well that it conveniently takes 100 cars. These spaces have been demarcated and marked accordingly. You will notice also the three giant auto-start generators, which are safely tucked away far from the halls and the hotel rooms. This is just an assurance that this hotel does not rely on the Power Holding Copmpany of Nigeria (PHCN) but sees it as a mere alternative. The few shrubs of flowers which are well manicured will also satisfy your sense of appreciation, as the environment is kept clean without any debris or trash flying about.Event HallsYou will be surprised that the premises which you are in harbours three well portioned and beautifully designed halls which are meant for those who desire a befitting environment to host guests and make them happy. The Genesis HallThis is the largest and can conveniently host 1,200 guests at a time. It has three upper galleries mounted appropriately for clear and unhindered visibility. It is equipped with a service room, functional and neat rest rooms and central air-conditioning, a special affair for wedding , summits, mass ' meeting and parties.Caroline HallThis hall is also for multi ' purpose events designed uniquely for just 500 guests. It is cozy and roomy with other facilities needed to add colours to conference, seminar, symposium, product launchVersace HallNamed after the acclaimed world designer, Versace, this hall is unique and befits the status of the person which it is named after. It is musically touched up to handle all the acoustic vibrations of heavy musical equipment. This hall is sound ' proof. It is the only sound proof event centre in the whole of Ibadan, Oyo State. It is one hall with a style meant for classical parties, disco and jump, for the select few who know how to consummate enjoyment.Versace Hall is for the boys and ladies, men and solid women and grand lords who want the best to make their event glorious.Conference HallThis is within the hotel. It is ideal for press conference, lecture, briefings and other functions for no more than 20 people. It is equipped with audio 'visual gadgets needed to support intellectual development. Realising the symbiotic necessities of an event, rest and accommodation, Kola Eleja planted glamourous 71 splendid hotel rooms beside the halls, with the added advantage of giving out a Queen suite free to whoever hires any of the hall for a night.According to the him, 'A good player in the hospitality sector must not be solely concerned with how much he is going to make out of his customer's pocket, but must also be greatly concerned with the wellbeing of his customers. Hence, we decided to offer free of charge, a Queens room for whoever hires any of the halls for that day or night. Since he has his party here, he should as well rest here for the next 24 hours.'The swimming poolAdding a touch of glamour to Genesis Suites and Hall are two uniquely designed swimming pools, one for the kids and the other for the adults, which are tucked behind the hotel, away from the public view, and garnished with facilities.Apart from having a resident professional pool watcher and trainer, a Lebanese, the hotel has made available, life jackets and other objects needed by novices who may like to learn the act of swimming. The swimming pool is opened for 24 hours for those who care for swimming lessons.Attending to swimmers at the pool sides are two in'House Dejays, a pool bar, suya corner and bathroom. And the Genesis suitesGetting off the hall into the reception, you will be enveloped by the ambience of luxury and splendour which is serviced by the well trained staff who are neatly dressed in their well cut suits and skirt and blouse. The door man is always all smiles and the roving marketing manager is on her feet to lure you with her enthusiastic posturings. The setting of the reception assures you that you are in one hotel which is unique in concept, pro'active in service, and luxurious. The settee, the ancient, glossy and antique standing clock with its golden pendulum swinging noiselessly, the marble flooring, the Italian POP, the courtesy by the staff and the fast tracking of the reception routine make Genesis Suites tower above others in Ibadan. On the way to the rooms, you cannot but notice the antique clocks placed at the end of the corridor ' a reminder of the fact that you are in a hotel of class. And the roomsAll the 71 rooms made of single deluxe, double deluxe and Queen suites ooze of space, splendor, luxury, comfort, super quality, first class fixtures and fittings. They are all fitted with royal beddings for the Queens' rooms while deluxe Victorian beds are planted in the standard and single rooms.Guests are bound to enjoy, a 24'hour room service, remote control air conditioner, multi'channel TV, 24'hour sport channels, mini-refrigerator, work desk and settee for suites. The bars and restaurantsComplimenting the comfort rooms are three exclusively executive wines and spirits bars which harbour in their racks, imported exotic wine, brandy and whiskey, while the restaurant not only on duty for 24 hours but is serviced by two continental and local chefs.Gym, laundry, business centre, supermarketGenesis is well planned to ensure that guests have no cause to venture out for everyday needs or desires. There is a well equipped gym being tended by a professional though the hotel is on Wi- fi, there is a business centre for whoever desires it, and a supermarket for everyday needs. We turn your hospitality dreams into reality- Monilola Dada,Marketing manager Speaking with Tribune Tourism magazine, Monilola Dada, Marketing Manager, Genesis Suites and Hall, said 'this hotel was conceived and consummated to offer the best services in the area of hospitality, accommodation and conferencing.'We took note of the inadequacies and imperfection in services being offered by the hotels in Oyo State vis'a-vis international standards and practices, hence the determination to offer the best. The ambience is not only serene but lovely, as all our rooms are posh, cozy and well apportioned to fuilfil the hospitality dreams of buyers.'Our three halls take care of your conference or social demands, as we design and package it to your taste, demand and concept.Just visit us today, you will be glad you did. We will turn your dreams into reality. We take no chances with maintenance - Paul Samia, Maintenance Manager'At Genesis,we are conscious about maintenance culture and my duty is to fix anything that goes wrong immediately and assist whoever is holding an event here to have full value for their money. Here, it is 'fix immediately,' not tomorrow. We also take good care of our swimming pools and ensure safety of clients and customers who are novices in the art of swimming. I am resident in the hotel and you are assured of 24 hour pool service.
