FORMER chairman of the Nigerian Referees Association (NRA), Dr Sam Sam Jaja, has described the judgement of an Abuja High Court, which voided the existence duo of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) and the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), as a new beginning for the nation's soccer scene.Dr Jaja who spoke with the Tribunesports in Port Harcourt yesterday also called on the Ministry of Sports to feel up the vacuum created by the judgement immediately by creating a temporary structure that would put all fundamentals in place for a proper election into the Nigeria Football Association (NFA).According to the veteran football administrator, Nigeria's football management had suffered serious devastation in the hands of those he described as 'jobbers' in the last few years, noting that time had come to restructure the house. He said the nation had gone past the fear of chastisement by the world federation, FIFA as nations with similar experiences in the past had gone ahead with restructuring even when the body sanctioned them.'I thank God for the judgement, it is a starting point for Nigeria's football, nobody needs to bother whether FIFA sanctions Nigeria or not, at a point Ghana was sanctioned, several other countries have at different time been sanctioned, that wouldn't make us to continue to walk on a porous ground, we shouldbe able to walk on a solid foundation.'What we should be concerned about now is putting the concrete foundation in place and I tell you before it gets to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil we would have come out strong.'What it means is there'll be an absolute vacuum because there's no board, nobody.'Nobody in the sense of there's no recognised legal institution to run football, it is now dependent on the supervising ministry, which is the Ministry of Sports to come out with a temporary structure to put the fundamentals in place for a proper election into the NFA, then the NFA will now put structures in place to bring up the proper body that will run the league', Jaja said.
