Wife of Nasarawa gov solicits proper upbringing of children

Wife of the governor of Nasarawa State, Hajiya Salamatu Tanko-Almakura, has urged parents and guardians to give their children proper upbringing.Tanko-Almakura, who made the call recently in her speech at the dedication of Gidan Bege Orphanage in Lafia, noted that children were special gifts from God.The governor's wife, who was represented by Mrs Patricia Akawu, stressed the need for parents and guardians to make tangible efforts to nurture the children for they were the leaders of tomorrow.Tanko-Almakura, however, solicited the people's participation in efforts to promote the wellbeing of orphans, adding that the people should always strive to render assistance to orphans.``We can only know what orphans go through if we also feel their pains,'' she said.Besides, Tanko-Almakura urged the people of Nasarawa State to remain law-abiding, while promoting the growth of the state.
